OUR WINES
Mud House Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2010
The fruit for this wine was solely sourced from the hillside blocks of Mud House’s Marlborough Vineyard. The 4 small blocks were harvested together in the cool of the night. The freshly harvested grapes were then carefully transported to the winery for immediate pressing with minimal skin contact. The pressed juice was then cold settled before being cool fermented in stainless steel. Carefully selected yeasts were used to add complexity to the blend and to retain the fresh fruit characteristics from each of the blocks. After the completion of fermentation the wine was carefully balanced and prepared for bottling.

WINE BACKGROUND
VINTAGE REGION
This wine was sourced from the hillside blocks of Mud House’s Marlborough Vineyardin the upper Wairau Valley. The varying slopes and aspects of our hillside blocks give this wine its complexity and depth of character. Each small parcel offers a different flavour and structure profile.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS
2010 Marlborough growing season started with cool but stable weather through flowering. As a result the vines gave us an even fruit set but naturally lower yields. The cool weather continued into autumn. This colder than usual start to the season extended the ripening period, which is perfect for intensifying flavours and concentrating aromatics. A later burst of warm and settled weather meant we reached maximum sugar ripeness without any problems or disease pressure. In the winery things were as calm as the weather – the fruit quality was excellent, the flavours and concentration were outstanding and the winery team was smiling. A dream harvest.
