A love of the Marlborough outdoors keeps Stephen busy when he is not at work in his role of Group Viticulturist for Mud House.
 
Stephen is responsible for ensuring our grapes meet the required high quality targets for the wine styles we produce. He offers technical support to our growers and vineyards and has the unenviable role of coordinating all the fruit intake into the wineries during harvest.
 
Stephen really enjoys the harvest period, with the culmination of everyone’s hard work and effort through the season, turning into great wine.

“The decision-making in deciding when the right time to harvest each block makes for a really interesting challenge. Once harvested, following the different blocks through the winemaking process and seeing the resulting wines blended is very rewarding”, Stephen says.
